Online Journal Entry #16

January brings the snow, makes our feet and fingers glow. Sara Coleridge
Did you enjoy your impromptu Winter Break?! Have you been out in the snow? Write a journal entry describing the best Snow Day you've ever spent? My wild ones spent a great morning outside playing, having snowball fights, and making snow angels. I stayed out long enough to take some pictures, then came in and made some hot chocolate!! How about you?
Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather. John Ruskin

Online Journal Entry #15

“Social Media is about sociology and psychology more than technology.” – Brain Solis Principal of FutureWorks
I heard a suggestion this week about how our class should have a facebook page instead of a blogsite. For our classroom purposes, this isn't entirely practical. Part of the beauty of the blogger system is the anonymity it provides allowing students to express themselves candidly without actually having to identify themselves in the process. However, I would be open to adding a facebook page for our class where I could leave reminders to blog and a link to the blogsite as well as reminders about due dates and such, and you would be free to ask me questions about assignments or whatever at any time? What do you think? Would that sort of reminder be a help? For this week's journal entry, give me your opinion about a class facebook page and tell me what you think about social networking in general. Do you love it or do you hate it? And WHY?! :)
