I hope you all had a wonderful break! Now, Friday is midterm and the last three weeks of this term will fly by and we still have a LOT to accomplish!! Someone asked me recently, "What is the point of blogging again?" Well, in case some of the rest of you were wondering as well, as the name of each post implies, these are Online JOURNAL entries. Each blog post is a writing opportunity. But instead of using class time and paper and pencils, you each have a whole week to get online, have some time to yourself, and WRITE! With that in mind, look back at the original rules: One or two sentences is not going to cut it anymore. These are journal entries. Put some thought into them. Tell me about yourself and your life and your thoughts. Open up. Think, for goodness sake. :)
For this week's post, write a journal entry about some experience you had over the break. The dinner itself? Your family traditions? A fun time with your friends? Your crazy family? What-ev. Pick something and WRITE!!
This year Turkey Day was completely out of the ordinary :) here at my dads we had Pizza, chips and cheese dip of some sort :) and then at my moms we had chicken!!! pizza and chicken on TURKEY day that is wrong in sooo many ways i mean we kinda went with wat we did last year, last year we saw a movie then came home had turkey and played videogames lol so that was my thanks giving this year and last year i think its funny to see every year the small or very large changes because sometomes you dont really notice them at first and when you do notice they surprise you ok im rambleing on im gonna get off here
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Dillons Girl! Way to start us off! Isn't it funny how sometimes we don't notice those little changes until something big (like pizza?!) makes us sit up and take notice! And when you realize you are rambling--that's a great journal entry!! Ideas ... thinking ... WRITING!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy break was pretty uneventful, well uneventful in my point of view. I basically went shopping every day except for on Friday. Yea i know black friday so many sales! But i kept my butt in bed. Shopping was okay but i really dont like going out with the whole family. My sister and my mom are great but Gramma and my step-dad get really cranky. They're your regular scrooges lol. Other than that i spent most of my time on the computer talking to my brother who lives in St. Joe and teasing him about i had good food on turkey day and all he had was his girlfriends moms terrible cooking.
ReplyDeleteMy break consisted of the usual playing video games, working, doing random stuff online, etc. When Thursday came along, my break changed, we went to see my dads side of the family in Kansas and we drove there. The drive was tiring, there's a three year old constantly pestering me nynan a car! (He doesn't know how to pronouce D's yet). After the ride things went easier we got chased by cows, rode four-wheelers and dirt bikes down the rode (while breaking all four rules on the four-wheeler safety warnings on the side), we talked about how Justin Beiber is gay, and had a bonfire/feast. My family is pretty crazy as it is, but when you get the "farming" side of my family together it gets intense, my grandpa loves to pull pranks so during Thanksgiving all the guys went down the road and mooned a couple of random people. The food itself was good, the had all Thanksgiving classics, but what made the dinner is two relatives that I don't know how there related are arguing back and forth about hows the best football team.
ReplyDeleteAs I do every year I go to my grandparents house, and see my whole mothers side of my family(HUGE!). I love my moms side of the family because they are sweet, good hearted people. We usually talk, then eat, and watch any sports game on that day. Their all from Nebraska so you can guess what college football team they watch. Anyways my Turkey Armagedon Day is usually the same but, always fun when around my family.
ReplyDeleteThis thamksgiving, i spenmt at my moms boyfriends, grandmas house. it was actually really funn. we had so much food! i felt like i gained a billion pounds at the end of the day. after we left there i stayed at a friends house and wee went black friday shoppingg all night, and got a bunch of stuff. over all my thanksgiving break was better then i thought it was going to be.
ReplyDeleteover break I enjoyed the company of close relatives but didnt enjoy the visiters ive only met as a child. I also spent some time with frineds doing the things us teenagers do best(:. but other than quality time spent with family and waisted time with others I just sat around and did nothing simply bc i could.
ReplyDeleteMy break was so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI got to see alot of family that I had not seen in a long time.
My mom and I did alot of shopping.
We mostly got stuff for our new house. My family and I also put up all the christmas decorations.
The best thing that happend to me this break was that I got a new puppy! I was very happy. I named my puppy Josie, which is my favorite name. So I guess I could say that I had a very good break. :D
my break was awesome i had my uncle form Alabama come over abd my grandma and cusians and other fanily menbers it was fun. we had turkey and we watched football and basketball. i also had practice on the break and it was fun.We when shopping on saturday and i was crazy but fun at the sane time. i love to spent time with the people you love and dont get to see that much. we get our cristmas tree a week from saturday and i was weird cus i could not reach the top so i got a step stole and it broke on me. and i love my family.
ReplyDeleteThis break reaaaly sucked for me because i had to get my wisdom teeth pulled. so i didnt get to eat any thanksgiving food at all. my family alll ate in front of me and i was stuck with applesace and pudding. We had apple pie and apple pie my favorite and i couldnt even eat 1 bite i was so mad. But spending time with my family was nice because i dont get to do it that often thats why i enjoy holidays a lot.
ReplyDeleteDuring the break I started drawing and writing again. I can't remember the last time I did either just for fun, but when I started I didn't want to stop. I've filled pages with drawings and chapters for a story I've been thinking of. I've shared a few things with my friends and they loved it. Other than that, break was normal.
ReplyDeleteMy break came to be what I think was actully very unexpected. The first meal was at my aunts and we had alot of different types of oyster made dishes(not my favorite) and the next two meals we had were at my moms dad's house and we had homemade bread and fried tukey that was actully pretty good but in the end all was nice and I can't wait to see what we get next year.
ReplyDeleteWow, a very ... oyster Thanksgiving? That's certainly a first! :D
ReplyDeleteMy break was certainly nothing special. I went to my dad's and him an I bonded which was great, but my dog ended up dying so that sucked. So after i got over that big mess, I ended up getting the flu. I couldn't even really eat on Thanksgiving so it stunk big time. It seems when you have a good time, time seems to go by so much faster than when your not having fun.
ReplyDeletei had a fun time. instead of going shopping on Black Friday my Mother, Brother and i set up our christmas tree. we had a hard time getting the lights to come on...my 22yr old brother could only think of one thing to do.
ReplyDelete*clap**clap*
"Well, I've done all I can do"
**walks off**

...yeah, sure.
!Buenos Noches, Amigos!
Over break, my stepmom's Aunt and Uncle came and stayed with us for 3 nights. I had to stay up and play cards with them until about midnight. I thought old people needed their sleep? Anyway, it wasn't too bad but, I sure do like to sleep...
ReplyDeleteOver the break I had a great expirience hunting. It was the first time i have ever been deer hunting in the snow. It was soo cool. Even though i didnt kill any deer, i saw a bunch and it was an awesome sight seeing the deer with a little bit of snow on them. It was supert cold though which sucked!
ReplyDeleteMy Thanksgiving break was pretty okay. It wasn't all that exciting, mostly just how it usually is every year. Family came over, we had a huge dinner and caught up with each other. Overall it was good. It was nice to hear from my family and see them again because most of them are scattered around the country. As a matter of fact I'm eating some Thanksgiving leftovers as I type this...
ReplyDeletemy experience over the break was black friday. it was awsome because it was crazy. i say this because i went to micheals at five o'clock and there was atleast two hundred people in there. then after that i went to walmart and waited until 12 o'clock to get a jeep for my 4 year old cousin. that was crazy. when 12 came the people went crazy and the jeeps were gone in two seconds. luckily i got two one for my cousin and one for my god-brothers. then i stayed until five in the morning to get a computer. in all there were over three thousand people in walmart that day.
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving break was fun. I ate a lot like your supposed to on holidays. Also, my grandma came over. Her, myself, and my mother played games for a good two hours. It was fun. We didnt really enjoy the snow though. After she left my friends came over. We all hung out and they made my thanksgiving even better. The break was full with enjoyment. So I give thanks.
ReplyDeleteWell my break was pretty grand. Except for working on Black Friday. A lot of crazy people who seem lost. Other than that I had a blast hanging out with friends. My family came up from Louisiana which was all right. I'm not a huge fan of most of them and they stole my room all break. In the end of it all it was a decent break.
ReplyDeleteHaha Thanksgiving this year was strange in the fact that it was suprisingly orderly this year! We woke up to the smell of biscuits and gravy (my favorite breakfast ever) and after we ate we got straight to work on the food. Everyone chipped in, even my dad who rarely steps foot in a kitchen. We cooked and cleaned for literally five hours until FINALLY...we were done! It made the food taste ten times better knowing how much hard work went into it, and eating it with friends and family just made it even greater.
ReplyDeleteThis break was pretty great. I had a fun time. I played wiffle and video games. Went to Dallas. It was so much fun. I got to see my friend Josh. He's pretty cool. The dinner was amazing.
ReplyDeletemy break was pretty awesome. i went to my grandmas house and stayed over at my uncles house for a couple days. then we had dinner the next day. after that we had a small party with friends and games. on sunday we had another party. all together it was tones of fun.
ReplyDeleteover the break i did nothing but run. i need to get in shape for the indoor soccer season! cant wait for it to start! but 1st, school work...
ReplyDeletefor ny break i just hung out with my family, ate, slept the usual stuff you do on thanksgiving. the food was great we had lots of pie. i really enjoyed getting out of school. i cant wait for the next break.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both, Awesome O! Now, how about that book review?! ;)
ReplyDeleteO3O OK HERE IS MY STORY!
ReplyDeleteI DID NOTHING! sat at home on my computer talking to people unknown in cali and ..... arizona ^3^ AND ON FB.
I had a wonderful time no big things just the family i live wit and nobody else we had turkey and ham and my moms famous cocunut cake. Its to die for.
ReplyDeleteMy break was pretty fun. My grandma flew from Louisiana to come visit. Everyone else went shopping black friday night except me cuz i didnt wanna go wait in line for 5 hours. But the next morning i went shopping with my grandma and took her to the landing. Umm the food was good we had pecan pie, which i dominated. It was a good thanksgiving but kinda uneventful
ReplyDeleteFor Thanksgiving, my grandma cooked the meal and it was really good. My cousin and her boyfriend came over from Dallas and we had fun. We played games after we ate. We played cherayeds?
ReplyDeletewell my family is a lil messed up in so many ways cuz all my cosions have been in and out of prison since i was a lil kid and this year everybody was here and they are all out now and there all staying clean and no more drugs or getting into trouble and my family is weird on turkey day we get the wii out and the whole family bowls. and it problly didnt help that i had 2 turkey days so that is a lil about my crazy messed up family :)
ReplyDeleteMy Thanksgiving started out slow and boring. As the mornig went by i kept wondering if we were even going to have a Thanksgiving dinner. Most of my day was spent sleeping in and watching tv but at around 3 my mom walks through the door with a turkey and all this other food that we had to prepare. It was almost 7 so we just invited some friends and family over to eat then after i went out and hung out with some friends. The entire day just felt awkward. The most strange Thanksgiving ever.
ReplyDeletemy break over thanksgiving was really good!! I got to get my mustang and I am soo thankful for being blessed enough to get a nice car. :) i got to see my sister over the break too.. It was really fun getting to see them and stay up until 3 playing the wii lol
ReplyDeleteover my break i played footall with friends it was fun just messing around the we whent inside and watched nfl. In all i hade a good break.
ReplyDeleteI didn't do much over the break but i had a wonderful time with my family.
ReplyDeleteMy break was really good. I spent most of it with my family. This break was different because I usually spend it with my dad and his side of the family and my mom's but my grandma moved on my dad's side so I didn't go over there for thanksgiving I just went to my mom's side of the family. Afterward I went to my best friends house though. It was a good break.
ReplyDeletewell something that happend to me was not so thanksgivvingly lolll. mny family of course met but when ur with my family theres never a dull moment. i had such a great time at my uncles and there was so much food i thought id burst lolll
