As we have been studying poetry, this weeks blog is a little more complicated. Archibald MacLeish once said, "A poem should not mean, But be." Similarly, this week, you are not going to sit and think, but get up and DO. So, your blogging assignment is go out and perform a random act of kindness--a kind act for the benefit of someone else which brings no profit or honor to yourself. Then come back here and tell us what you did, how the recipient reacted, and how you felt after you did it. Make a difference to someone today, then see if it makes a difference in you.
Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver. ~Barbara De Angelis
When i was driving the other day i was in a reall hurry to get home in time for one of my family members to get there. I was driving in walmart parkinglot and when i noticed there was entire line of cars down one of the rows and nopne was letting them out. I stopped even tho i was the last car in the line not letting them out. I just felt like it. i let every single car out of the jamed row and it turns out i was late getting home but that was ok because i found out that my family member visiting was about 2 hours late because he got delayed because he let someone els go infont of him on the plane :)).
ReplyDeleteI babysitted so my sister could take a nap. She has to work and go to school and take care of her kid so i offered to babysit him for a while. It didnt feel any different than any other things that i do.
ReplyDeleteSomeone dropped their keys in the parking lot. I looked at them. Then I returned them to the owner. They gave me a big hug. I have them a big hug. We big-hugged. I felt great and now I want to learn more about my culture by creating safe environments for animals.
ReplyDeleteToday I actually helped a couple girls with them being afraid to audition for Ladies Select for next year. I actually offered to come in and help them practice on some notes and warm them up before they practiced. At first they weren't going to audition because they were nervous and didn't think they could make it but I told them that they shouldn't be nervous and encouraged them so today they actually auditioned and afterwards they were glad that I got them to do it and said I was right it wasn't that hard. Tomorrow is the day we will find out if we all made it or not. Exciting & Nerve wecking.
ReplyDeleteTo tell you the truth I can't recall doing anything extra kind this week. I held doors open and helped Col.Burke/Msgt Atwood in jobs but those are what I normally do.
ReplyDeletei work at mcdonalds and i help people everyday. since i work at drive thru i take their order and help them become 1 step closer to their food. yyyyaaaaayyyy
ReplyDeleteIf you make the right destion than good things will happen to you but if you wait and do something wrog than you will think something bad is going to happen well love and life are almost the same thing you fall in love sometime in your life even if dont think about love . when you think thier is no love for you maybe you will find it if you are not looking fopr love. its unspacted for some people.
ReplyDeleteFor my act of kindness, I made a girl feel beautiful. I told she was, and i also gave her a hug. She was way happier after i did that stuff than before I did it.
ReplyDeleteyesterday i babysitted my nephew while he was visiting our house so my mom didnt have to
ReplyDeletei helped somone today by cleaning up the stadium and the fields during 2nd hr and it was less work the janiters had to do and such so it helped people by cleaning up the inverimonet
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I found someone's keys and we hugged. Then, with that warm feeling from that old man's hug, I decided to help the community by volunteering at the local humane society.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE YOU MRS. SNOW.
Well on this weekend I watched my firends kids for FREE and all the kids were really really good. It was a lot of fun. I have never watched more then 1 kid at a time and this time I watched 3 kids. It was a really good experiance!
ReplyDeleteI tried talking to this kid named Dustin, because he never talks to anyone, he sits in the back of the class an doesn't talk to anyone beside the teachers. I decided I would try to talk to him, and when I did, he yelled at me and ran away. I tried to do something nice, but in the end it turned out not working.
ReplyDeleteOn Sunday my mom had a lot of work to do. She works as a housekeeper. So, my brother and I decided to help her out by making all the beds, cleaning the furniture, and vaccuming. And we didnt get payed for helping.
ReplyDeleteWell me and my bus driver have a very simple relationship. I step on the bus, he says "Good morning Edward.", I nod, smile, and sit down in my seat. But the other day I decided to sit down near him and strike up a conversation. We talked the whole way to school and found out a lot about him. He's a really nice guy and it was pretty cool just sitting down and talking to him.
ReplyDeleteSome things i think that i do that shows kindness, is to introduce myself to new students. It doesnt feel good being the new kid so its kind of comforting having someone talk to you. Also, if i see anyone crying or be upset I go up and ask if there is anything i can do. I try to do the most I can do.
ReplyDeletei try to show kindness everyday.. you know, how there's always those certain kids in our school that everyone picks on? well, it really makes me mad so i try to always be the nice one and help them out and stick up for them. because nobody deserves to be harassed like this!! i've been harasssed before and it's crazy it hurts and makes you just wanna beat the crap outta someone but you still try to be the bigger person and not do that. but sometimes it does come to the point you just have to. but, i do notice that normally the ones i stick up for really appreciate it and are really nice and if someone ever gives you crap they're ready to back you up. :)
ReplyDeleteI helped my sister with taking care of her baby when she other things to attend to. :D
ReplyDeleteThis weekend I went to my moms friends house and fixed her computer:) she is really nice so she gave me some "pupusas" - some food from el Salvador. Really good!:) anyways she is really nice so I didn't want to ask her for money so I told her a couple of them would be fine.
ReplyDeleteWell my bus driver and I have a pretty simple relationship. I walk on the bus, he say "Good morning Edward.", I nod and say "Mhmm.", then I go sit down. But this morning I decided to switch it up and after his routine "Good morning Edward." I sat in the front seat and said "Good Morning Sir, how have you been?". It might have caught him off guard cause he looked at me funny but after he realized I was serious we had a nice conversation on our way to school. After almost a year of driving me around it's really the least I could do and I think it brightened up his day.
ReplyDeleteI really can't think of anything i've really done lately except like when i see trash on the floor at the school (usually from people to lazy to put it in the trash themselves) i usually do that. I guess you could say that it helps out the school and the janitor. makes me feel good doing something at least.
ReplyDeleteThis week I talked to my mother about getting a job, instead she told me that if I watched Jake for her then I wouldn't have to get one. Every day after school I pick my little brother (Jake) up from school and we go somewhere, like the park or something. In the end it helps my mom out because she doesn't have to worry about picking him up from school, also, I try to get him in an out of the bath before she comes home so she doesn't have to worry about putting him to bed. It's nice to know that I can help her out.
ReplyDeletelast week my sister was feeling a little lonely that day, so me and her spent the day together. We went to the landing and shopped for some clothes, though they were all chick stores so no clothing for me. We then worked out at a resort my sister owns a timeshare in, which is nice due to the fact the treadmills had TV's on them. We went shopping for food, and saw this lesbian couple and found out that one of them was a biker. At the end of the day I felt accomplished and managed to brighten my sisters day
ReplyDeleteThe acts of kindness i do aren't really random. It's about being polite and knowing what's right. Yesterday and Mcdonalds I was walking out and an old couple was behind me so i held the door for them and they smiled and said thank you. I think when young people do things like this for older people it makes them feel good about the generations to follow.
ReplyDeletelast thursday i went and fed the homeless people of branson. we have labout 400 homeless people in branson. some may think homeless like living in the woods?... no people who live in motels who dont have a job or have a low paying job. jesus was homeless is the program that i go with. i hadn't gone in a long time and it reminded me of how sad it is for some people. some people are forced to live in these motels because of medical issues that they have to pay for.
ReplyDeletelast week at school i had 2 dollars left in my wallet, at lunch i bought me a powerade, so that left me with 1 dollar that i was going to use to ge a powerade after PE, one of my friends saw me at lunch with the powerade in my hand and asked me if i had another dollar and i said yes, he said, "can i have it?" most peoples response to that would be, no dude its my last dollar, but i said sure and gave it to him. it made me feel like a non selfish person after doing it.
ReplyDeleteOH OH ^^ I SAVED A TURTLE! XD It was in the middle of the road and i drove past it, stopped in the turning lane and walked back and put it on the grass way away from the road. I also helped one of my best friends get over his depression by taking him out to the landing and such, I try to help people everyday but yea, sometimes I can make things worse, but in the end, I can help over 6 people within a week, I am a councilor to a lot of people I know.
ReplyDeleteShockingly enought I hate reading with my sister, bit last night, I went in with her an asked if she'd read with me. Honestly it was one of the best things I've done in a long time
